Do you handle collection throughout the State of New Jersey?

Yes. New Jersey is a small state geographically, and we can go to any of the counties in New Jersey.

Get help recovering overdue balances

Denial of payment is frustrating and uncomfortable, both personally and financially. We have the sensitivity to manage awkward situations, such as the collection of loan payments from relatives. But we also have the tenacity to pursue unpaid obligations from businesses in New Jersey and out-of-state.

Unpaid debt collection in New Jersey

There are several methods of debt collection available under New Jersey law for both individuals and businesses. Depending on your debtor's financial situation, we may use only one method or we may employ all options available to us.

Bank levy

If the debtor has a bank account in New Jersey, we can file a bank levy. When the levy is approved by the court, we can take the money you are owed directly from the debtor's bank account.

Execution against wages

A debtor who works in New Jersey and earns more than $127.50 per week is subject to a wage execution, also referred to as wage garnishment. In this scenario, we petition the court to have payments removed from your debtor's paycheck until the debt is paid.

Execution on personal property

When you are owed money from a debtor who has little or no liquid assets, a bank levy or wage execution is not going to get you repaid. In such a case, we can pursue an execution on personal property. This means we can use the sale of the debtor's personal property, such as a car registered in New Jersey, to raise the money needed.

Out-of-state business judgments

If you have obtained a judgment against a debtor in a state other than New Jersey, but the debtor now resides in New Jersey, that out-of-state judgment can, in most cases, be filed, or docketed, in New Jersey. Once the judgment is docketed—

  • It becomes a lien against any real property that the debtor owns in New Jersey for 20 years
  • We can pursue all collection methods as though the judgment were originally obtained in New Jersey
